A conflict of interest occurs when a staff member’s personal interests, relationships, or other roles could influence, or appear to influence, their professional judgement or decisions about your supports.

Examples include:

• Recommending a service or product that personally benefits a staff member
• Favouring one participant over another due to personal relationships
• Sharing confidential information for personal gain

2. Our Commitment

We ensure that:

• Participants are free to choose their providers, supports, and service options
• All decisions are made in the best interests of participants
• Staff disclose and manage any potential conflicts immediately
• Our operations remain transparent and accountable

3. How We Manage Conflicts

When a conflict (actual or potential) is identified:

• It is recorded and assessed by management.
• A plan is developed to mitigate or remove the conflict.
• The participant involved is informed and supported to make their own choices.
• If necessary, services are adjusted to ensure impartiality.

We also provide regular staff training to help team members recognise and handle conflicts appropriately.

4. Participant Rights

You have the right to:

• Know about any potential conflict of interest that may affect you
• Choose who provides your supports
• Raise a concern or complaint if you feel a decision has not been made fairly
